Cherry Creek, Denver, CO

A marriage of traditional and modern furniture and finishes results in an elegant, enduring design that is both comfortable and classic.

Before and After

Nestled in one of Denver’s most desirable neighborhoods, this home in Cherry Creek already had plenty of beautiful architectural features, such as the ornate limestone fireplace mantel, the 2-story rustic brick wall, and the multiple archways throughout the home. Oh, and the home has its own elevator—which I find amusing, since the homeowners are endurance athletes! Already having great bones, the home only needed a minor facelift. One area of change that made a significant difference was switching up the lighting fixtures throughout the house to project a modern aesthetic. For instance, the contemporary pendants and crystal/metal chandeliers brings personality without overshadowing the otherwise traditional space. In the kitchen, a clipped diamond mosaic backsplash brings subtle shape and design while working harmoniously with the cabinet wood stain and movement of the granite countertop. We mixed some of the existing furniture with moderately-scaled furnishings consisting of clean lines and light-colored upholstery. For the finishing touch, we added punches of color with artwork and a fresh coat of paint throughout the home, creating an atmosphere that is both relaxing and refined.
